Hi Second Grade,

Last week you created a composition using the Music Composition Game. This week, I'd like you to copy it into the QComposer Lite so you can hear what it sounds like. Please log onto Quaver to view and complete this assignment.

Many parents have been asking me about submitting assignments on Quaver. I have FINALLY figured out how to do that!

When you're finished creating your composition on click "Menu > Save and give your composition a name. Then, click Menu > Submit to turn it in so I can hear it too.

Good Morning my Favorite Second Graders! 

 
Thank you so much for sending in your pictures for the "Hello Teachers" video. I would like to finish the video in time for Teacher Appreciation week. Please submit your photos no later than Monday, May 4 if you would like to be included in the video. 
 
I hope you enjoyed playing on the Quaver website last week. This week, we are going to continue using Quaver to review reading and writing rhythms in music. You can find a video and some actives on Quaver under "Assignments". 
 
Almost everyone has created a Quaver account. Great job! I have re-attached the instructions for any one who still needs to make an account.  2nd grade Quaver.pdf

Quaver Music is an interactive website we can use to have even more fun with music. If you have trouble following the instructions to create an account, please reach out to me because we will be using this website for the next few weeks. There is a lesson assigned on Quaver, but feel free to explore the other features of the website as well.

This week is the big week! We FINALLY get to watch Peter and the Wolf.  I love this story and hope you do as well. If you’d like, you can send me a few sentences about the movie using the form. You might wish to answer one of the following questions, or make any other comment you’d like:

  1. What was your favorite part of the story?
  2. Did you think the music matched the characters?
  3. What was the biggest surprise in the story?
