4th Grade Distance Learning
Week of 5/18
Hi 4th Grade!
Many of you have turned in some EXCELLENT lyrics for the school song. I've attached a few examples on TEAMs and via email so those of you who might be stuck can have some inspiration. Remember, I encourage you to work with a friend or parent to complete these lyrics. Song-writing requires collaboration. Writing song lyrics is NOT easy but everything I have received so far has been AWESOME! Keep it coming!
For those of you who have finished your lyrics, you may continue writing lyrics or check out this link:

Week of 5/11
Hi Fourth Grade,
Thank you for all the excellent feedback about our school song. I know it is going to be great. Read this article: Counting Couplets.docx and watch the video next to this box. Then, start writing some school song lyrics. Feel free to work with a partner (or two) or work alone. If you need inspiration, take another listen to the school songs I posted on Quaver. And, as always, reach out to me with ANY questions.
Writing these lyrics will be challenging. If you are having a hard time, don't worry about it! Maybe you will only wind up writing one or two lines. That is OK. Maybe you will have a total brain fart, and wont be able to come up with anything at all. That is OK too. Just try your best and have fun!
Love,
Mrs. Madison
Week of 4.27
Good Morning my Fabulous Fourth Graders!
Thank you so much for sending in your pictures for the "Hello Teachers" video. I would like to finish the video in time for Teacher Appreciation week. Please submit your photos no later than Monday, May 4 if you would like to be included in the video.
Almost everyone has created a Quaver account. I am so proud, because out of every grade at KES, the 4th graders had the most students create Quaver accounts! I have re-attached the instructions for any one who still needs to make an account. 4th Grade Quaver.pdf
I know some of you had trouble completing the rhyming worksheet, so thank you so much to everyone who turn one in. I have re-attached that worksheet as well, just in case anyone would like another chance to complete it. week 3 4th grade Typable.docx
This week, I have posted a video about how to organize the lyrics to a song under "Assignments" on Quaver. Watch the video and think about how it can relate to the school song we are writing. What should we put in our verses? How can we make our chorus extra meaningful?
Next week, I'll share the results from the rhyming worksheet so we can see what big ideas emerged for our song. Then we will start putting together the lyrics of our song.
I miss you all and I can't wait to be back in the classroom with everyone. Until then, keep in touch!
Love,
Mrs. Madison
Week of 4.20
Good Morning Fourth Grade,
Week of 4/13
This week’s lesson is a follow-up to last week’s lesson about the instrument family. I want to hear what you think about each instrument. This is your chance to tell me how you really feel! Complete the worksheet and have fun doing so. Submit it using the form if you wish. Then, choose your NUMBER ONE instrument. Write a letter to a friend, convincing them to pick that instrument in 5th grade. Send me the letter if you wish using the form.
Week of 4/6
We still have to decide what instruments we like best!
Don’t forget that next your you can choose to be in band, orchestra or chorus.
Watch each of the videos found on this website. Then submit this form ---->
